A critical review on optimization parameters and techniques for gas pipeline operation profitability

Abstract Pipelines have traditionally been recognized as the most cost-effective and safe mode for transporting natural gas. However, since a tremendous amount of gas is transported through pipelines, massive investment required to construct operate pipeline networks. The oil-and-gas sector has embraced optimization because its potential cut down costs significantly. inclusion several variables, single or multiple goals, intricate linear–nonlinear equality inequality constraints make significant challenge . In recent years, industry experienced surge in parameters techniques lower cost. Numerous researchers previously focused on developing effective algorithmic modifications enhance certain search capabilities. very few review papers published, despite being critical engineering solution providers. paper tries fill this gap by detailing many parameters, fourteen our case, tuned obtain outstanding operating advantages. addition, six widely accepted techniques, viz. Ant colony, Genetic algorithm, Differential evolution, Particle swarm, Simulated annealing, Whale algorithms, are also detailed. Furthermore, approach problems addressed supplement application. findings study intend understanding methodology, advantages implementing industry, allowing maximum operational benefits period diminishing fossil fuel supplies.
